Oil & Fire on the Front Porch
Art on the
Front Porch at River Region Art Gallery will feature art with Oils &
Fire on November 1st and November 2nd respectively. This free program is
part of the mission of River Region Art Association which is to promote the
artists and enhance the arts in the community by introducing art through
demos.
Sylvia
Rochester of Belle Rose will create in oils using an alla prima method
which is an Italian phrase meaning “painted solely wet in wet” and
usually is finished in one sitting. She will have a display of her
Louisiana art to delight the viewers from 12-4 p.m. Sylvia has a studio
right in the swamps at Bayou Carne and claims she just has to look out the
window for inspiration.
